It combines the best characteristics of fiber, paper and fabric. Invented by DuPont, it consists of fine polyethylene fibers, flash spun into a web, and bonded by heat and pressure. The resulting material is light weight, yet resistant to stretching and tearing, waterproof, yet breathable, so the wearer’s skin does not become warm or moist It is also tamper resistant, so sharing bands, or removing them, is discouraged. |
