Fall Risk wristbands are mostly universally recognized as yellow bands. Most hospitals like to go with a Wide Vinyl or Plastic which is what I will focus on today. When a patient is a fall risk patient what is the most import is that patients safety so having a bright, and visible and durable band is always recommended.
Wide vinyl wristbands offer you a larger area to add your custom text or logo, you are even able to write on this bands with sharpie if need be. This usually come in packs of 500’s and come in various colors including the Neon Yellow mainly used for fall Risk patients.
Wide plastic wristbands have a large printable area, just as vinyl, you can as well write on the if need be with sharpie and they do also come in packs of 500’s. So what is the difference what do I choose?
Plastic material light weight, comfortable. This is an excellent product for extended wear. Vinyl is also comfortable just a bit thicker to the touch, both are waterproof fabrication as well as secure one time use locking plastic snaps.
Both of this products have a long life spam and are use in the hospital different care units feel that the material is better for their patients and they make the decision based on that.
